Yesterday, during an emotional ceremony attended by about 40 people including representatives from Habitat for Humanity and many who helped with the build, the house keys were handed to Miss Hutchins and her children.
In tears Miss Hutchins thanked everyone who had helped build her home and worked behind the scenes to make her dream a reality. "Thank you for your time, love and talents. This is a legacy I leave for my children. My grandchildren will be here and their children."
Miss Hutchins' children were buzzing about their new home. Three-year-old Elise said she loved the house "lots and lots and lots" and was looking forward to having a Barbie-themed room.
Her big sister Eden-Rose, 11, said the new home was cool and the best part was "just the fact that we have real carpet". Nine-year-old Niko said he was looking forward to having his own room.
