Overall budget shortfalls at the Rotorua District Council are steadily being reduced, but still remain behind budget after seven months of belt tightening.
Councillors will be updated on the organisation's budget issues at a meeting of the council's operations and monitoring committee tomorrow.
The meeting starts at 9.30am and is open to the public.
In his report covering financial performance for the seven months ending January 31, the council's finance manager Thomas Colle says the shortfall reported at the six-month position had reduced during January, but overall remained behind budget by $247,000.
"A clear plan and monthly monitoring is in place to ensure the identified revenue shortfall is addressed by year end," Mr Colle said.
