The body of former Rotorua man, Diego Hulton, who died after a fight outside a Perth bar, will return home next week.
Mr Hulton's body will remain with the coroner until next week and a Perth funeral is being held next Thursday at Dobson Family Funeralcare, in Maylands.
Mr Hulton,37, is a father of two children and moved to Australia about six years ago.
He was injured after going to his brother's aid when he was attacked by a group outside the bar on February 3. He took a hit to the head, knocking him unconscious, and died in hospital on February 7.
Two men have been charged over the fight, including one for causing grievous bodily harm to Mr Hulton.
Perth police said a decision on whether to lay further charges might take weeks.
Mr Hulton's mother, Rosa Hulton, told the Rotorua Daily Post her son's body would fly home to New Zealand on February 24 and from the following day it will lie in state at Tunohopu Marae at Ohinemutu until his final service on February 27 at 11am. He will then be buried at Kauae Cemetery.
Meanwhile, a fundraising page for Mr Hulton's family set up by his cousin in Australia, Roxanne Brown, has now raised more than $20,000.
