Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the shooting after 32-year-old Ginns was found dead.
Ginns was also wanted in connection with a 20-year-old woman found hogtied on Ms Glassie's property last Friday.

The arrest of an elderly Rotorua man for the 1979 murder of a service station attendant is thought to be the longest running cold case in New Zealand to end in an arrest.
The 70-year-old appeared in the Rotorua District Court yesterday charged with the murder of Rodney Tahu in Turangi who was found with gunshot wounds to his head and shoulder but died shortly after arriving at Taumarunui Hospital.

The mother of teenager Jesse Howe says she has been destroyed and will never be able to forgive her son's killer, Rotorua District Court has been told.
Aaron Tawhara Gourlay was sentenced in court yesterday after previously pleading guilty to killing Jesse, 17, by dangerously driving a van on July 17 last year.
Victim impact statements written by Jesse's parents were read out in court by Rotorua Crown prosecutor Amanda Gordon.
Gourlay was sentenced to six months' home detention, 200 hours' community work and ordered him to pay reparation of $8000 including $5000 to Jesse's family for the emotional harm he had caused. He was also banned from driving for two years.

The father of Kaingaroa 16-year-old Kaine Lewis says his life has changed forever as the result of his son being killed.
"I'm no longer a father and I won't be a grandfather. I've been cheated. I'm sad, mad, angry. I cannot find it in me to forgive them ... I stare at his headstone looking for answers as to why he had to die ... I hope angels are looking after him. I love him with all my heart," Ian Lewis said in the High Court at Rotorua yesterday.
Norton Taoho, 20, was yesterday sentenced to life imprisonment after earlier pleading guilty to murdering Kaine at Murupara on October 3, 2009. Taoho will serve at least 10 years before he is eligible to apply for parole.
Two others - Joshua-Lesley Whitu, 18, and Hemi Winitana, 19 - were sentenced to eight years' jail and eight years and four months' jail respectively after being found guilty by a jury of manslaughter. Whitu must serve four years and Winitana must serve four years and two months before they are eligible to apply for parole. Winitana was also found guilty of participating in a criminal group.
Neville Duff, 33, was sentenced to two years and 10 months' jail and David Te Wharerangi Rewi was sentenced to two years and six months' jail after they were each found guilty of participating in a criminal group.
Whitu, Winitana, Duff and Rewi were found guilty last month of the charges they faced after a trial in the High Court.

A sprinkler system could have saved Rotorua's Warehouse Stationery from burning to the ground, says fire safety officer Stuart Bootten.
Firefighters were called to the Central Mall store just after 6am yesterday when a fire broke out in the back right hand corner of the building.
The fire forced nearby businesses to close temporarily but most were open again by midday yesterday.
Telecom, which shares a wall with Warehouse Stationery, had extensive smoke and water damage and a partly collapsed roof.

A Rotorua man accused of skipping the country with millions of dollars which was accidentally put in his bank account may be back in the country facing court action, but the case is still devastating for an elderly Rotorua man.
Bill Barnett, the original owner of the BP Barnett Service Station which Leo Gao owned at the time he fled New Zealand, said yesterday he was pleased Gao was back in New Zealand facing charges.
Gao, 30, appeared in Manukau District Court yesterday after being extradited to New Zealand over the theft of $6,782,000 from the Westpac Bank in 2009.

More than $40,000 worth of food and cash has been donated to The Daily Post Christmas Appeal 2011.
More than $36,000 worth of food and cash has been donated to the appeal for Rotorua's Salvation Army foodbank and more than $4000 worth of food was donated to the Salvation Army foodbank in Whakatane.
Captain Amanda Martin of Rotorua's Salvation Army said the amount raised was "absolutely amazing" and should last until at least Easter.

The parents of a little girl sexually violated and attacked in Turangi say it was a "random act of evil" and they will never hold the community responsible.
A Turangi 16-year-old is to appear in Taupo District Court this afternoon charged with sexual violation, aggravated wounding and burglary.
He is accused of breaking into a caravan at the Club Habitat Holiday Park, alongside State Highway 1, on Wednesday last week, as the 5-year-old slept with her 3-year-old brother. The teen is alleged to have sexually assaulted her and caused significant injuries to her head and body.
The children's parents were metres away at an amenities block when the attack began. The mother returned to find the caravan locked but could see someone inside, on her daughter.
