Tree felling and road works will cause delays for motorists south of Rotorua this weekend.
There will be intermittent road closures of 10 to 30 minutes on State Highway 5 just south of Waipa Mill Rd to allow for several dangerous trees to be felled. The longest closures of up to 30 minutes are expected to occur Saturday morning from about 6:30am to 9:30am.
The work may also continue on Sunday and may be rescheduled if there are high winds.
Motorists should also expect delays as major repair work continues at Tumunui 17km south of Rotorua. The road will have single lane closures.
Work is expected to be completed by early October.
