A meeting will be held at midday today to decide if the annual cross procession and Redwoods Easter service will go ahead tomorrow, as the city braces for Cyclone Cook.
Organisers will decide which parts of tomorrow's Easter service will still take place and make arrangements if they deem it too wet to go ahead outdoors.
Reverend Scott Gifford said they would be checking MetService regularly until then.
"I have it open now, and it looks like it will hopefully clear by the morning," he said.
