Lynmore Primary School junior pupils recently had a visit from Geoff and his dog Chloe from the SPCA to talk about animal safety.
Junior teacher Whaea Karen was alarmed at the number of children being bitten and attacked by dogs so asked the SPCA to come in and teach the children how to be safe around animals, focusing particularly on dogs.
Geoff and Chloe were only too happy to oblige.
To say thank you the junior pupils held a cupcake day sale to raise money for the Rotorua SPCA.
The school raised $1084 and Geoff was over the moon, saying the money would go a long way to helping the abused and abandoned animals the society looks after.
