"There were far too many errors and we let them score about three soft tries. Yes they had sharp backs but we shouldn't have let them spin the ball so wide to their wingers.
"There is a very flat feeling at the moment. It wasn't good enough and I know we can play a lot better."
However Taylor did say there was some form redemption in Angell's try having lost 72-0 in the reverse fixture.
"At least we did get over the line. And I have to say Harlem finished off a very nice team move. But there weren't many other positives to pick out."
It was always going to be a difficult game for league strugglers Ngongotaha as Hamilton City Tigers came into the game unbeaten in the Waicoa Bay premiership.
Taylor thought the side may have been affected by having less game time than their opponents after last weekend's clash against United was cancelled - after they had won their previous fixture 32-30 against fellow league strugglers Turangawaewae.
"We have been looking to get some momentum behind us after our recent win, so it was very unfortunate about the United fixture," he said.
"Maybe less game time showed against Tigers who were ready to go from the off.
"Now we must focus on picking ourselves up. We will perform better and we will work through this to get as many wins on the board as possible before the end of the season."
Meanwhile, Pikiao also suffered a heavy away defeat - losing 60-16 to Pacific Sharks.
