Geyser WHHS will play BOP Indians in this week's championship final.

The Rotorua/Taupo senior reserve grade post-Christmas final will be an all-Rotorua affair after Bay of Plenty Indians and Geyser City Western Heights High School Old Boys won their semifinals.

Geyser WHHS were up against Lake Taupo, who batted first in their semi-final on Saturday and were all out for 102. Opener Carl Robb was the best of the Lake Taupo batsmen with 41 runs. Geyser captain Joe O'Donoghue led from the front with four wickets at a cost of 22 runs and Eamon O'Donoghue took 2/14.

Geyser were able to chase down the total in 25 overs for the loss of five wickets. Gordon O'Donoghue top-scored with 33 runs and Matt Mitchell scored 22. Lake Taupo bowler Cole Davey put up the most resistance with two wickets for 10 runs.

This weekend will be Geyser WHHS's first final having formed for the start of the pre-Christmas competition and narrowly missed out on a semi-final spot in that phase of the competition.

In the other semi-final spot Bay of Plenty Indians batted first against Taupo Old Boys 1 and scored a respectable 191 runs. Umesh Moraji top-scored with 51 runs, while Neeraj Kumar and Akash Patel chipped in with 28 and 26 respectively. The best of the Taupo bowlers were Frano Allison (3/20) and Simon Dufty (3/35).
