There has been a two-car crash on State Highway 36 near Hamurana.
An ambulance communications spokeswoman said one person had suffered moderate injuries and two people had minor injuries.
Leisa Tocknell, St John Ambulance acting territory manager (Lakes), said one male was taken to Rotorua Hospital with minor injuries.
Inspector Chris Tate said the crash happened about 3.34pm and by 4.40pm both cars had been removed from the scene and traffic was free flowing.
