Kidworx events designed for the mini shredders (12 and under) of Crankworx. Daily coaching skills, scavenger hunts and a specially made pump track are all part of the Kidsworx arena.
Air Downhill
Skilled mountain bikers race at break neck speeds down a steep and rough track on the side of Mount Ngongotaha to the finish line at Crankworx HQ. This year's Air Downhill track features 32 jumpable features making it a top-to-bottom 'whip' through the trees.
Key riders to watch:
Men: Bas Van Steenbergen (CAN), Sam Blenkinsop (NZ), George Brannigan (NZ), Bernard Kerr (GBR)
Women: Jill Kintner (USA), Anneke Beerten (NED), Caroline Buchanan (AUS), Casey Brown (CAN)
Oceania Whip-off Championships
One of Crankworx Rotorua's most anticipated events, the Oceania Whip-off Champs see the best riders from all over the world compete for the biggest air and the best style.
A 'whip' is when the rider hits a jump to get massive air and whips their bike 45 degrees to the side, bringing it back down into a straight line on the ground.
