"Country in the Park is an opportunity for our talented members to perform outside of the normal club day environment to a wider audience.
"There's a perception that country music is for an older audience. We have singers of all ages who will delight with everything from traditional country to new country and country rock."
Vice-president of Geyserland Country Music Club and vice-president of the New Zealand Country Music Association Grant Reha-Timoti said it was also an opportunity for those thinking of joining the club to meet the members and see if it was something they wanted to do.
Mr Reha-Timoti said what he liked about country music was the vastness of it, as it ranged from gospel to love songs to country rock.
"Whatever mood you're feeling at the time there is a song for you within country music."
He said there would be a couple of guest artists at the event, including Jade O'Brian from Phoenix Country Music Club and Janice Colhoun from the Waikato Country Music Club.
Members from clubs in Te Puke, Tauranga, Opotiki, Tokoroa and as far Auckland also came along to the concert and put their names on the list to have a sing, he said.
The Geyserland Country Music Club was 20 years old and had a membership of about 80.
Mr Reha-Timoti said it was a great learning platform for young ones to start learning their craft and stagework before heading off into their own genres when they were older.
Within the structure of country music there was also the opportunity to enter awards and competitions for all ages, he said.
