People from all over the world will descend on Rotorua this month to overcome their fear of public speaking.
The 68th POWERtalk International Convention is being held in the city from July 17-22. The convention teaches delegates how to overcome a fear of speaking in public.
"Public speaking is a lot more than speaking in front of crowds.
"The skills that members learn are invaluable. They include the ability to be effective communicators, build upon their leadership skills and embrace the opportunity of professional development being offered to members," said Val Harper, international president from Canada.
New Zealand secured the rights to host the biannual convention in Rotorua with the assistance of Tourism NZ.
