With all the worries of having a sick relative in hospital, the last thing family members need to worry about is getting a good night's sleep.
But thanks to a generous donation from Bed Rumours, it won't be uncomfortable beds keeping the occupants of new units for family members at Rotorua Hospital awake.
The Rotorua business has supported a project to provide accommodation for the families of patients at Rotorua Hospital.
Spearheaded by Te Whakapono Health Trust, the Paimarie (Haven of Peace) project will see the construction of six self-contained units, estimated to cost $500,000, which will be used as a base for those supporting patients.
Robyn Neil from Bed Rumours said the company would donate two queen-size Madison beds, worth $795 each, to the unit.
She said the firm was very aware of being "community conscious" and the beds were a great way to help the community.
In the past, they have made other donations to community organisations and regularly donate second-hand beds to the Salvation Army and Women's Refuge from customers who buy new ones.
Te Whakapono Trust manager Tanya Morrison said the trust was thrilled with the donations.
