The sun decided to shine yesterday bringing out some of the most beautifully maintained boats you could ever hope to see.
The 19th annual Lake Rotoiti Classic and Wooden Boat Association boat parade was postponed on Saturday due to rain, but the flotilla of around 70 vessels wound its way around the shores of Lake Rotoiti yesterday.
Former association commodore and Okere resident Fraser Wilson said a fun day was had by all, but a few problems were caused by lake weed.
He said the parade passed a few hundred people who had gathered on the shores of the lake to watch the boats at Okere and Wairau Bay.
"Some couldn't make it today, but we all managed to set sail around 10.30am. As always we have a lot of fun and it's great to see so many lovely boats out on the lake."
