A crane has been brought into City Focus this morning to bring down the apricot fans facing Hinemoa St.
Parts of Hinemoa and Tutanekei Sts have been sectioned off for the demolition.
A construction worker at the scene said they had "made allowances" to have the roads closed for the whole day but hoped it would not take that long.
