The Rotorua based BayTrust Rescue helicopter was dispatched to Turangi to pick up a 17-year-old man.
The man was competing at a sports tournament yesterday afternoon when he fell and dislocated his elbow.
As emergency services were busy in Turangi with multiple events happening, the BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was dispatchedso as not to use up any more resources in Turangi.
Emergency services set up a landing area away from the tournament for the helicopter to land.
