A child was seriously injured after a quad bike incident in Whakatāne.
Police were called to a property on Matahi Valley Rd about 12.25pm yesterday, a police spokeswoman said.
She said the child suffered serious injuries and was taken to Whakatāne Hospital by road.
The child's injuries had improved to moderate on arrival.
