Save UPDATE: A child has been run over by a car in a driveway near Matata.
The incident occured at about 9.40am today at a property on Herepuru Rd.
St John ambulance communications team manager Norm Ngatai said the 8-year-old boy was reported to have fallen from a ute and subsequently
run over.
He was transported to Whakatane Hospital with serious injuries.
Fire, police and ambulance were called to the private rural address.
