A child was seriously injured when he was hit by a car in Rotorua about 5.35pm tonight.
Northern ambulance communications team manager Norm Ngatai said the boy, believed to be about 7, was in a critical condition when the ambulance arrived at the scene on Ranolf St.
He was taken to Rotorua Hospital.
No further details were available.
