A full house is expected at a meeting in Rotorua today to discuss the Independent Forestry Safety Review Panel's consultation document.
The review has been undertaken to try and address the forestry sector's poor safety record - last year eight workers died and 11 were injured in the Bay of Plenty.
The consultation document was released earlier this month and the panel is now travelling around regional New Zealand meeting with key stakeholders such as workers, contractors, forest managers and owners.
Review secretariat Stephanie Coutts said registrations for today's meeting had reached capacity, with 120 people attending.
Ms Coutts said a panel member and local MPs Todd McClay and Te Ururoa Flavell would briefly address the meeting before it broke into workshops to discuss five key themes. Groups will then report back, including addressing anything the consultation document may have missed, she said.
