Rotorua produced top results at the three-day canoe slalom national champs at the National Whitewater Centre of Excellence in Shannon, near Palmerston North during the long weekend.

Okere Falls' Mike Dawson took top honours in the K1 men's event, while Ben Gibb won the C1 men's event.

Former Rotorua Olympian Luuka Jones won the K1 women's title.

Okere Falls' Zack Mutton did well to make the top-10 final and win the under-16 age group.

U18 winners: Jack Dangen K1M (Tauranga) 1; Kensa Randle K1W (Alexandra/ Tauranga) 1; James Thwaite C1 M (Tauranga) 1.
