A Rotorua businessman has been remanded in custody after pleading guilty to five drugs charges.
David Ronald Young, 52, is the owner of Pukuatua St store Skingraft, which sold synthetic cannabis, or legal highs, until they were banned in May last year.
He pleaded guilty in the Rotorua District Court this morning to the possession for supply, possession for selling and manufacture of psychoactive substances. He also admitted two charges of possession of Class C drugs.
He was remanded in custody until July 21, to confirm a sentencing date.
He was arrested in October last year after more than $900,000 worth of cash and illegal products, including synthetic cannabis, were seized by police during searches at eight Rotorua addresses.
