The hour-long Success Through Service presentation featured talks from Talent ID's Kellie Hamlett, Urbo Homes' Jeremy Maling, Lone Star's Andy Allen and Whare Aroha Care's Therese Jeffs and Deanna Smit.
The speakers shared their success stories and gave listeners advice about how their businesses could deliver outstanding service.
Ms Hamlett said she believed a positive attitude was crucial.
"I think it's very important to know that how you're feeling on the inside is reflected on the outside. If you're having a bad day, then the customers will see it and often they're the ones who bear the brunt of it," she said.
It was important staff made small steps to be happier, so that feeling could translate to customers.
"Positivity attracts positivity."
Mr Maling, who manages Urbo Homes, said it was essential for businesses to constantly evolve and change to create a better business experience.
"If you look at some of the most successful businesses in the world, they are forever pulling their product apart to see how they can make it better," he said.
"It's that determination, to provide the best product and the best service for their customer, that sets them apart."
The presentation was one of several Raising the Bar service-related workshops and presentations that have been held in recent months.
