A builder has severed his finger while cutting timber with a skillsaw.
The 23-year-old Whakatane man was injured yesterday.
He was airlifted from Whakatane Hospital to Waikato Hospital by the Waikato-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter with an ICU retrieval team on board.
He had accidentally sawn off his index finger while cutting timber with a skillsaw.
He was flown to Waikato Hospital for surgery.
