James Rolleston has been spotted out of hospital after he was involved in a horror car crash.

Actor James Rolleston has been spotted on the set of a Jason Statham movie as he recovers from serious injuries sustained in a car crash.

The 19-year-old star of Boy was taken along to the set of Meg by former co-star Cliff Curtis, who is part of the film's cast.

Rolleston was injured in a horror car accident on the night of July 26 when the car he was travelling in with Kaleb Maxwell crashed into a bridge in east Opotiki, where he is from.

It's one of the first times he's been seen in public since the accident.

Rolleston was transferred to Waikato Hospital's intensive care unit.

The car was written off and police were forced to shut down the road for an hour to clear the wreckage.
