Mr Meyer said Autohaus Rotorua Mazda had been involved with the event for many years as a guest and donated items such as rugby balls signed by the All Blacks and car valet vouchers.
However this year they thought they would try to do something different in conjunction with the Professionals Rotorua to put up a fantastic item for auction.
"To me it's really why wouldn't you support it?
"It always makes you appreciate what you have but at the same time see how strong those kids that have undergone hundreds of treatments really are. We feel that their bravery deserves all the support we can give them."
Professionals McDowell Real Estate accounts administrator Aisha Okeremi said Rotorua had raised about $620,000 through this breakfast event over 23 years.
She said the Child Cancer Foundation supported more than 1000 families at any one time, but a lot of the money raised stayed in Rotorua.
"The car is the biggest item we've ever had for one of these."
She said about 12, likely more, local children with cancer would be creating and selling art as part of the auction.
Each year the event has sold out with about 350 people attending, she said.
The Professionals Rotorua are still taking donations if people want to be involved.
The event's tickets include breakfast and a seat, with raffle tickets sold on the day.
