I have always told my children, 'always front up to something when you've done something wrong,' no matter how hard it may be.
I'm the first to admit to not being great at spelling - kind of a strange thing not to be good at especially in my line of work. But I'm usually pretty careful and with the miracle of modern technology, I have spellcheck, you'd think what could possibly go wrong, right? Wrong!
Many of you may have grabbed Friday's edition of the Rotorua Daily Post and noticed the front page headline "Warm glo for festival finally". In my mind I thought I had typed out finale.
Even to the point when the paper came out the next morning, I was shocked when I read the headline. I was up-in-arms thinking someone had changed it and how dare they!
The other miracle to modern technology, is being able to check the history on your work and to my shock and horror it must of been my sixth thumb which hit the wrong keys and spelt out finally instead of finale. Well that's what I'm trying to tell myself, because every time I look at Friday's paper I cringe.
