They may be more used to dealing with cash and customers but a group of Rotorua BNZ staff have swapped the money for shovels as they mucked in to help out in the community.
Gardening and some good, old-fashioned cleaning were on the agenda yesterday for the six staff who volunteered at Rotorua's Rainbow Springs Kiwi Encounter as part of the bank's annual Closed For Good day.
For Mandi McQuarrie it's the fifth year she's helped out at Rainbow Springs, indulging in her passion for helping out kiwi. Ms McQuarrie said it was a great opportunity to get out from behind the desk and into the fresh air, as well as giving back.
"It's something I am very passionate about. We've done quite a few fundraisers for Kiwi Encounter."
Assistant husbandry manager Emma Bean said it was great to have the extra manpower on hand.
