Constantly dealing with a sore back after working on chainsaws, bushman George Smallman invented a portable light-weight workbench to ease the problem.
The Turangi man is showcasing his invention in the Innovation section of the 2013 National Fieldays currently on at Mystery Creek near Hamilton.
The light-weight chainsaw sharpening stand is cheap, easy to erect and can be used as a lunch table for bushmen as well and comes with a 50-year guarantee. "It takes 30 seconds to erect."
After 35 years or so fixing chainsaws, Mr Smallman said he needed to do something to reduce the stress on his back. "I kept getting back strain and a very painful back while servicing chainsaws."
They cost $373 to buy.
