The flowers at the Government Gardens will take a back seat to the colour and form of artwork this weekend where the area will be festooned with paintings, sculpture and a variety of work by Bay of Plenty artists.
Art in the Park is an annual event that brings artists from throughout the region together to make and sell their art.
"It is the chance for people to get more involved with the creative arts, and it's a fun, family-friendly day out in the beautiful Government Gardens," said Mary-Beth Acres, manager of The Arts Village.
"It's really a one-day art festival and we have around 60 artists who are doing live art making.
"They continue to come back year after year because it's got an old-style feel.
