An art exhibition held in memory of Rotorua identity Peter Reynolds has raised $17,000 for the Rotorua Community Hospice.
The Rotary Club of Rotorua West held the Peter Reynolds Memorial Art Exhibition in December, with proceeds from the commission on art sold going to the hospice.
Reynolds was a well-known interior designer, who died in 2014.
At a function last night a cheque for $5000 and art works worth $7000 were presented to the hospice. The art will be displayed in the hospice's new building.
A further $5000 was also donated to the Rotorua Geyser Community Foundation - Rotorua Hospice Endowment Fund. The fund was established in 2012 by the five rotary clubs in Rotorua with an initial seeding contribution of $50,000 and now stands at $81,000. Interest generated is distributed back to the hospice.
