Rural folk have polished up their boots and dusted off their hats and they're bringing all the drama and action from the country into Ngongotaha this weekend.
The annual Rotorua A&P Show is not just a one-trick pony, and new events have been planned to make the event a real crowd pleaser, said secretary Lyn Tetenburg.
One of the new events is the Strong Man Competition that will see the strongest men in Rotorua put through their paces with a variety of heavy lifting duties to entertain the masses.
Another focus this year is to include kids in as many ways as possible. A petting zoo, donkey and pony rides have been organised to get children interacting with the animals.
"We've brought more animals in for the children so they can get up close, and see animals are not just a five-minute job, they require care and nurturing," Mrs Tetenburg said.
