Rotorua Airport chief executive Alastair Rhodes has resigned his position to take up a role at the BayTrust.
Mr Rhodes announced his resignation on Thursday, and will finish at the airport in February.
"Between now and February 15 it is very much business as usual for the airport with a number of key tasks the board has set for me to achieve prior to my departure," he said.
He won't be leaving any unfinished business, he said.
"I believe the time is right for me to move on and let someone else take the reigns and drive Rotorua Airport to be the best regional airport in New Zealand. Most of the key outcomes that were set with the Airport Board and Rotorua District Council when I first tool the role are now in place, or will be in place before I leave," he said.
