Aircraft lands in paddock near Whakatāne

Emergency services were called to a field near Whakatāne Airport after an aircraft landed unexpectedly.

Police were called to the field at 2.10pm.

A St John spokesman said ambulance staff attended the scene and it was understood one person was on board the aircraft.

He said the person did not require any medical attention.
