Dean Chytraus and Ben Sarten are travelling New Zealand and sharing their experiences - and Rotorua is going to be a hard city to top after an action-filled few days which included having a beer with the mayor inside a Zorb.
Zorb Rotorua general manager Kyle Kydd hosted the pair on their Rotorua trip, which included visiting more than 10 of the city's tourism attractions and providers. They arrived in Rotorua on Thursday and before they left yesterday morning they had gone white water rafting, jetboat riding, enjoyed a farm show at the Agrodome, experienced Maori culture, went to Agroventures and jumped into a Zorb to enjoy a Croucher Pilsner with Rotorua Mayor Kevin Winters. Mr Chytraus and Mr Sarten visited Rotorua as part of a competition they won - Arrival Magazine Dream Job competition, promising 60 days of pure fun. Since October 1 the pair and their friends have been travelling New Zealand, visiting towns and cities and experiencing what they had to offer.
They are sharing their adventures through social media, including a travel blog and updates via Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube and more.
They are also undertaking a "Beers with Mayors" challenge, which involves the winners trying to meet up with the mayors of each centre they visit.
Mr Chytraus, originally from Utah in the United States, said he had a full-on and awesome time in Rotorua. He said Mr Winters was only the second mayor they had been able to meet up with but they had plans to meet others during their month-long trip around the North Island.
