Fresh from the release of Citizen - Trinity Roots' third album - the soul funk trio are taking their unique brand of music to provincial New Zealand between now and the end of June.
On their previous tours around Aotearoa Trinity Roots have been crowd favourites and this was clearly demonstrated during their appearances at New Plymouth's WOMAD 2015 festival when they wowed large audiences.
Warren Maxwell on guitar and vocals, and bassist Rio Hemopo have really gelled with new drummer Ben Wood, giving the Trinity Roots sound a new palette which comes through strongly on Citizen.
The Citizen tour kicked off in Dunedin last weekend, lands in Wanganui and Taranaki this weekend, arrives at Auckland's Tuning Fork next Thursday followed by Leigh on Friday 29th and Raglan, Saturday May 30th. From there it's back to the Mainland for gigs at Methven's Blue Pub Friday June 5th and Christchurch Saturday 6th.
