Teenage Dream
Katy Perry
I officially have a new favourite song - Katy Perry's Peacock.
The track is found on Perry's second album, Teenage Dream and has a real Hey Mickey feel to it. It's fun, flirty, catchy and a great song to party to.
Peacock is just one of the many great
songs on the album. I'm also a fan of the single California Gurls, the current hit climbing the charts, and Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night, Firework, Not Like The Movies and Pearl.
What I love most about Perry is the playfulness she has in her music - and that she isn't afraid of a bit of controversy and stirring things up with her lyrics.
The two-time Grammy-nominated singer said she was giving everyone the full spectrum on this album, which is true.
"You're getting the sugary sweet but you're also getting the 'Oh my goodness, she had to sit down for a minute and let things off her chest'," she says.
Perry's latest album has been playing continuously in my CD player since I got it because it is that good.
And, just for an extra bit of fun, her album is even cotton-candy scented.
4/5
