Ko Taiarahia te Maunga Ko Ohinemataroa te Awa Ko Mataatua te Waka Ko Ngāti Rongo te Hapū Ko Tuhoe te Iwi Lois is a senior editor and leader who has specialised in production and change management within newsrooms across New Zealand and Australia. Over the past four years, under Lois' remit as Head of Cultural Partnerships and Newsroom Diversity, she has spearheaded initiatives to promote diverse voices and perspectives. These have included developing and launching Kāhu and Talanoa, NZME digital platforms dedicated to sharing Māori and Pasifika stories. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in establishing and nurturing Te Rito, an award-winning collaboration between NZME, Whakaata Māori, Pacific Media Network, and Newshub, aimed at training and mentoring young journalists from underrepresented communities.
