Tommo's Bakery indoor premier final results - Augst 25
Uni Premier 66 vs New World Rototuna Suburbs Premier 37

In the final of the Tommo's Bakery indoor open premier grade Uni Premier completely reversed the tables on their result the previous week to take out the final against New World Rototuna Suburbs Premier.

This is Uni Premier's eight consecutive year winning the title which is an outstanding record and something to be proud of. The final was played at the Te Awamutu Events Centre with a large number of spectators there to support the teams.

Rototuna Suburbs Premier were without their NZ A players (Monica Falkner, Kelly Jury and Samantha Sinclair) and this showed from the start with Uni Premier ahead by 15 goals at the end of the first quarter 21 goals to 6. And while the rest of the game was more competitive with the Surburbs Premier players adjusting to different player combinations on court, Uni Premier won each consecutive quarter; by four goals in the second and third quarters and by six goals in the final quarter.

The half time score was 36 goals to 17 and the final score 66 goals to 37.

For Uni Premier there was some astute passes by Ariana Cable Dixon at centre and wing attack into Elsa Brown at goal shoot. Brown combined well with Jessie Taane at goal attack and both were accurate.

The defence combination of Rachel Fabling at goal defence and Amy Christophers at goal keep were formidable picking up a lot of turnover ball and making it difficult for the Suburbs Premier shooters.

School girls Courtney Elliott at wing defence and Ali Wilshier at wing attack and centre showed their skill and potential.

For Suburbs Premier regulars Emily Patterson at goal defence combined well with Shannon O'Donnell at wing defence and they did have some success. They showed guts and determination in the absence Jury's height at that end of the court.

Georgia Eldridge playing up from the Premier Reserve team at goal attack stepped it up moving and shooting well. Overall a disappointing end of the season for the Suburbs Premier team noting their success and unbeaten record during the championship round.

In a game between St Paul's Collegiate Open A and New World Rototuna Suburbs Premier Reserve, St Paul's were the victors 45 goals to 41. This their first and only win of the championship round but one they were happy to have to conclude the season.
