Vandals have targeted Waihī‘s refuse station overnight in a “senseless attack”.

Hauraki District Council said the Waihī Refuse Transfer Station was able to open on time today without disruption, “but not thanks to a senseless vandalism attack on the office overnight”.

“Electronics were the target, no cash is kept on the premises and there is CCTV security,” the council said.
