An arrest warrant has been issued for Hamilton man Michael Lesley Stevens who has breached strict supervision conditions imposed on his release from prison.
Waikato Police child protection coordinator Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Greene said the 26-year-old was convicted for offences including child sex offences in 2004.
He has a history of violence and carrying weapons.
Mr Greene said Stevens is a European of medium build and about 1.8 metres tall.
