A person has moderate injuries after a vehicle crashed down a bank on State Highway 5.

A person has moderate injuries after a vehicle crashed down a bank on State Highway 5.

A vehicle went off the road and crashed down a bank on State Highway 5 on Thursday.

Police were called to the highway near the intersection with Glengarry Rd about 7am.

A police spokeswoman said no roads were closed.

Fire and Emergency NZ and a Hato Hone St John Ambulance were also at the scene.

St John received a call at 7.03am and responded with one ambulance. which took a patient with moderate injuries to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

On Thursday afternoon a Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora spokeswoman said a man in his 30s was in a stable condition at Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
