Hamilton Girls' High School sensation Tenika Willison has received a huge boost to end the school year.
The 16-year-old has been included in the 16-player squad to assemble at Mount Maunganui on Sunday ahead of the naming of the team to travel to the opening tournament of the IRB Women's Sevens World Series in Dubai next month.
She was selected on the back of a strong performance in the final week of the new Women's Sevens Series competition held in Taupo alongside fellow first-timers Morgan Morrow of the Bay of Plenty and Kiwi Fern Charlotte Scanlan.
Being called into the national fold at 16-years-old is almost unheard of, but the reports on Willison are glowing.
"Tenika is a dynamite talent, and at 16 she's still too young to play for us, but we definitely see her as good enough to start introducing her to our high performance environment," New Zealand Women's Sevens coach Sean Horan said.
