Habitat for Humanity Central North Island (Habitat CNI) celebrated the completed renovation of Freeman Court's Bryant Wing this month.
The event was attended by mayor Jim Mylchreest, Habitat CNI chairman Dr John Gallagher, Freeman Court residents, staff, suppliers and supporters.
Dr Gallagher said Habitat for Humanity was proud to have moved into the field of age care, as it fitted with their philosophy.
He said that was also the reason behind the bid to purchase the Palmer St flats and create a precinct in Te Awamutu.
Habitat CNI general manager Nic Greene said thank you to residents for their patience through the renovation process, which has modernised and ensured full safety compliance of one wing and reception area of the 1950s-built facility.
