Two motorcyclists dead following separate crashes in Raglan and Auckland

Two motorcyclists have died following separate crashes in the North Island today.

A police spokesperson said they were called to Ohautira Rd in Raglan at 2.05pm following a crash between a car and a motorcycle.

“Sadly, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene,” police said.

The road has now reopened after earlier being blocked.

The Serious Crash Unit had been notified.

Police responded to a second crash involving a motorcyclist about 6pm on Oruarangi Rd in Auckland’s Māngere.

A spokesperson confirmed one person had died following the single vehicle crash.

“The road remains blocked while the Serious Crash Unit conducts a scene examination.”

Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
