Raglan-based wildlife and nature photographer Trevor Penfold recently won an award in the ANZANG 2012 nature photography competition in Australia.
The competition, run by the South Australian Museum in Adelaide, aims to showcase the amazing diversity of the unique natural heritage of the bio-region of Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica and New Guinea.
The international competition is open to amateur and professional photographers from anywhere in the world but the photographs must be taken within the ANZANG bio-region.
This year, the more than 1300 entries were whittled down to 98 finalists in 10 categories.
Trevor had five images selected for the finals in categories for animal behaviour (two), wilderness, threatened species and our impact.
