A pedestrian is in a stable condition after being hit by a ute on Harris St in Huntly this morning.
The driver of the ute struck a man and then a power pole at 11am near the railway crossing, according to the fire service.
A St John duty centre manager confirmed one person had been transported to Waikato Hospital with serious injuries.
The man was this afternoon stable in a ward at a Waikato Hospital, a Waikato District Health Board spokeswoman confirmed.
Police said the power pole had been knocked down and broken wires were hanging over the ute.
