Drury Lane Dance & Performance in Hamilton will celebrate its 50th birthday this weekend with a special show For the Love of Dance at the Clarence St Theatre on Saturday and Sunday.
Everyone who has been a part of the Drury Lane Family, as a student, parent, tutor or supporter is invited to come and celebrate their 50th consecutive annual concert with founder Aileen Downey and daughter Kerry Davis still at the helm.
The studio opened in 1968 with Aileen, and Kerry joined her in running the school in 1975.
Drury Lane's long history has had it provide dance experience and tuition for many families in the Waikato and establish itself as the most well-known dance studio in the region. The birthday show features a performance from each year since the first concert in 1968. Watch the show and catch up afterwards with Aileen and Kerry.
There will be three shows over the weekend — an evening performance on Saturday at 7pm, a matinee on Sunday at 1pm and another evening performance at 6pm.
