The Meteor's Blackbox is set to become Hamilton's home of Halloween on Saturday, October 31 with a late-night double feature picture show.

A frightfully delightful double bill The Meteor is pleased to present People You Know – Spooky Songs at 7pm, followed by Cinema Improviso – War-gods of the Deep at 9pm.

A Musical Theatre Concert Spooky Songs will showcase some of the Waikato's most spine-tingling performers as they present a range of Halloween inspired songs with piano accompaniment by Dr Nick Braae.

Joining Braae will be local performer Nick Wilkinson as MC for the evening along with a mixture of seasoned and emerging performers.

The full cast line-up features; Sophie Nairn, Hannah Doherty, Helen Drysdale-Dunn, Zac Clarke and Alex Pelham-Waerea, who all recently to starred in Bold Theatre's The Bold Experience.

Hamilton theatre stalwarts Nick Clothier, Kimmy Hall, Benny Marama and Jonathan Hawthorn will also be taking the stage along with rising stars Mandi Longmuir, Sophie May-Brown and Sasha Kirkwood.

The late-night component of the "double feature", Cinema Improviso presents War-Gods of the Deep, will take vintage Z-grade science-fiction-horror film War-Gods of the Deep starring the late great Vincent Price and redub the entire film with improvised dialogue, music and spooky sound effects.

"The film follows a young woman after she is kidnapped and the two adventurers who set off to find her. In doing so, they discover a city lost beneath the ocean, where the inhabitants have been living for centuries. Alongside this, and with a mammoth volcano threatening to destroy the city, the dastardly captain and his band of long-lived smugglers must find a way to survive their impending doom …"
